Bangon, Philippines!

We, Filipinos are known for being resilient survivors of a variety of challenges and fierce individuals in times of need. From the moment Marawi fell, we witnessed how the Philippines recovered from the issue's numerous negative effects. The severe humanitarian catastrophe is one of the many effects. It has rendered almost 300,000 people homeless and without property. Natural resources, housing stock, construction, and the local economy all decreased immediately.

But this problem didn't lead to the downfall of the Philippines and the Filipino people. The problem was resolved thanks to the courage, incredible fortitude, faith, and helpfulness of the countrymen. Rodrigo Duterte, the earlier president of the Philippines, was in charge of this. He dealt with the crumbling of Marawi by requesting the MILF forces to provide support to those still trapped in the city while the issue was still going on. The President, the nation's Department of National Defense, and some assistance from other nations banded together to chase down the one to blame.

The incident highlighted that the Philippines' resilience is higher than most people realize. It is inestimable since the Philippines tried everything to get back on its feet. Because the citizens recovered stronger and more prepared to confront challenges, the nation was able to overcome disappointments and failures. In actuality, resilience is one of the Philippines' best traits, meaning that its people will always manage to endure no matter what calamity strikes.

Additionally, Filipinos have already mastered how to survive natural catastrophes and unforeseen calamities like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and multiple typhoons.

For instance, in order to prepare for typhoons, we strengthen the house's foundation, arrange for basic necessities, and are aware of the approved evacuation zones. In order to know greater detail, we listen to the news. People either stay inside their homes or evacuate during the strongest moments of the typhoon. After the typhoon, they return home, rebuild their houses, and resume their lives.

We also have drills like the Duck, Cover, and Hold drill for earthquake preparedness. This method aims to reduce the number of earthquake-related injuries and the effects they have on resources.

Furthermore, we have precautions in place for volcanic eruptions. After saving necessities, we evacuate and obey to agency regulations. These laws are intended to benefit the populace, which has resulted in efforts to successfully confront the aforementioned disaster.

The previous examples of natural disasters, anthropogenic hazards, and unexpected calamities have only served to strengthen Filipinos' resilience. And as Filipinos, we have consistently maintained a positive outlook and attitude in the face of disasters. Everyone may have become numb as a result of the many difficulties we have faced in the past, but our spirits continue to soar because we have an unshakable belief that we can succeed and overcome all obstacles.

Symbolism Of My Admiration and Support To The President

Dear Mr. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,

I've been meaning to write you a letter since you won the election as our president. Through this letter, I want to say the things that I have been keeping.

First, I know that you hear and see all the negative words and actions that some Filipinos have been saying and doing. They've been spreading information on social medias and starting rallies to take you down from the position; they are clearly conveying that you don't deserve to be in that position.

However, despite all those, you work on silence. You serve wholeheartedly without asking for something in return. You work even though there's no one capturing or taking a video of your doings. You maintain working and serving the country despite all the bad things that they've been spreading.

I hope you continue working with all your heart. May you keep serving the country even though some of us don't treat you right. And lastly, I hope you maintain yourself worthy of every vote dedicated to you for that position by doing what is good and right, and not by doing unjust actions.

Sincerely,
Margarette Reduque

Let It Breathe! Let It Live!

"Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race
There are people dying
If we care enough for the living
Make it a better place for you and for me."

This is a verse from Michael Jackson's song titled "Heal the World". This particular lyrics from the song conveys to the listeners that we must start healing the world. We must make caring for the environment as one of the top priorities that we have.

As we know, the temperature on the Earth has been increasing so fast. This is because of the greenhouse gases that keep on increasing too. These greenhouse gases are the outcome of manmade activities such as burning of fossil fuels, burning of trashes, deforestation, pollution, and improper solid waste segregation. In addition, they contain the atmosphere too much already that it is resulting to the continuity of increment of temperature.

We, the humans, and the living things that has the ability and capability to think for the better and to do what is right, should start working on the problem. Earth is our home, and it is slowly getting sicker and sicker and the worst part is that we are the disease. We become the cancer if we don't care for the Earth.

To solve it, I have here some pictures of me cleaning the environment. I didn't only take the following pictures to gain good grades. I cleaned the environment with my friends wholeheartedly, and simply because I want to make my surroundings clean.

This is me picking up dried leaves, segregating trash bins, cleaning scattered papers, and fixing up the used tables. Through this actions, I know that it can contribute a big positive impact to the environment. And as a matter of fact, cleaning the environment like picking up scattered plastic bottles, papers, and dried leaves has became my daily routine.
We should start doing everything that we can just to express and give the environment the treatment that it deserves. Our environment also lives. It inhales and exhales. It gets tired. It evolves. It expresses anger, love, coldness, and hotness. And because I have shared my message through this blog, I now have the courage to ask you this question— What are you willing to do for the betterment, improvement, and development of the environment's cleanliness?

You Are The Teacher

 You Are The Teacher

You
Of all out there who could've been, it was you
The one who spends time and effort to make us grow
It was none other than you who made us glow.

You held us so gentle that we weren't afraid to dream
You taught us so many things that we want to aim
In the dark, you became the light
The one who strengthens us when it's time to fight.

Only Him can tell
How badly I want to thank you so well
Cheers for all the memories that we keep and hardships we have conquered
That carved and turned us into the best that we can be.

Through this simple composition
I hope you could receive our gratefulness
This is also me trying to say
You are a teacher, not an only teacher.

ps. Thank you teachers for being the best teachers that we need. Continue to strive, and love what you're doing.

Just Me Being Me

I am Margarette Reduque, 15 years old. I am from the beautiful municipality of San Vicente. I was born in December 22, 2007. I think I am the oldest one in our section.

Personally, I have the things that I favor. One of my favorites is the sunset. Yes, I like sunsets more than sunrises because sunsets mean like even the saddest goodbyes could happen in the most beautiful way. Another one, I like tulips than any other flowers that lives because I think they look so soft. They are so relaxing in the eyes. Furthermore, I like singing more than dancing. I have been joining singing contests since I was in grade 3.

My favorite Ppop band is December Avenue. They write the saddest songs someone could ever listen to. Also, I don't know why, but I relate to their songs so much as if they were written for me. Moreover, my favorite Pop band is Coldplay.

I am student from Ilocos Sur National High School, and now busy preparing for Senior High level. Many years of studying and practicing have made me tough, believer, strong, and goal-oriented student. For almost 12 years of studying, I have maintained a good relationship with my classmates and teachers. And as of my studies, I pay many attention and efforts to keep myself on one of the top students.

My goals are not only focused on gaining achievements, but are also intended for me to learn and grow knowledge about everything. I also remind myself that whenever I fail, it's okay. What matters is the thought of standing up again. As they say, seven down, eight ups. Also, I have those people who makes me happy when I'm sad. Some people would call them "buddies", "bffs", or "friends", but I call them "casa mia". They're somehow my home when I'm down.

As I grow up, I realize many things. The thoughts that I thought were right come out to be wrong. All the immature practices I have been doing are slowly fading away as I start to be more conscious of my actions. But even though these situations are overwhelming me, I still think that perhaps all these are happening for a reason. Because perhaps this is where the meaning of my life really begins.
